Vivo Y55S Design and Texture
The Y55S is equipped with a simple candor design with 2.5D curved edge-glass on the front. The phone has a soft gold finish on the rear. This phone looks like an iPhone which is nothing new for Chinese manufacturers. The thickness of the phone is 7.5 mm and weight is 147.9 grams. The small size of the phone makes it easy to hold in hand and all the buttons also remain in access. The phone has a separate microSD card slot with the headphone jack. This phone comes with dual-sim support. The rear of the phone looks of metal while it is made of plastic.

The 5.2 inch HD display comes with a fine high pixel density, making the icons and texts look clear. Color reproduction is quite good and we had no problem using the phone in viewing angle or sunlight. The Y55S already comes with a screen protector.

The phone does not have the capacitive navigation button backllate given below nor the phone has a notification LED. But you can use rear LED flash for incoming calls, messages and reminders when you are screen off. The absence of fingerprint sensor in the phone is disappointing.

Vivo

Overall, we do not have much complaints with the design and design of the phone but it did not attract us. The design of the phone is not new. Vivo has given a standard 5 watt power adapter, a data cable, a headset, a silicone case and a SIM Ejector Tool in the phone.

Vivo Y55S Specification & Feature
This smartphone has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor that runs at 1.4 GHz. Which can be called a strange election in view of the octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor given in Y55L. The phone has 3 GB RAM and 16 GB storage which can be increased to 256 GB via microSD card. The phone has features like Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi B/G/N, 4G VoLTE, USB OTG, FM Radio and GPS. The phone also has a virtual gyroscope with standard sensors.

Talking about software, the phone has Android Marshmallow based Funtches OS 3.0. Vivo V5 Plus Ke Review Since no change has been made in it. If you have not used a Vivo phone, you will have to learn a little change for all control. For brightness, volume slider and quick togle, one has to swipe upwards on the display while the notification shed can be used only for notifications.

The phone’s setting app offers the option of custom features like motion and touch gesture, one handed mode, super screenshot and smart click. During the screen off, several functions can be performed when the volume button is held. The screen can be done in half without coming out of the player to message or use WhatsApp while watching a video from smart split. The stock app has Vivo Cloud for backup, UC browser WPS office, Amazon, WhatsApp and a theme store.

Vivo Y55S Performance
General UI performance is good and we had no problem in the phone during everyday use. Multitasking is easily in the phone. However, the choice of entry level processor for big apps and games in the phone did not seem best. Benchmark figures were found properly from the phone. 3D game can install and play in the phone but many big games will down the phone. 16 GB storage is not enough and the storage ends rapidly on downloading music and videos.

1080 pixels videos are easily played in Y55S. And high bit-rate video test files also ran properly. The voice and clarity coming from the speaker is not very good. And the sound quality is fine only for alert. The headset that comes with the phone is not in-ear type, so do not have too much expectations from quality.

The phone has a 13 -megapixel rear camera that comes with aperture F/2.2. Fantastic landscape photos and macro shots can be taken from the phone in daylight. However, zoom in shows a lack of detailing and the closeup shot lacks sharpness. Autofocus occurs rapidly even if there is no PDAF. In low light, pictures come a little noise and the pictures are a little better when the night mode is turned on.

The phone also has shooting modes like face beauty, panorama, professional, slow-motion video, time-laps and ultra HD. The phone’s interface is easy to navigate and it is easy to perform all functions. There is a 5 -megapixel front camera with aperture F/2.2 to take a selfie, which brings selfie with great detailing in good light. However, the screen flash is slightly weak. The rear camera of the phone can cause video recording up to 1080 pixels and the quality is very good.

The 2730 mAh battery performance of the phone shocked us. In our HD video loop test, we got a 12 -hour and 12 -minute playback, which is not very bad. At the time of normal use, we could run the phone throughout the day. At the same time, it took a few hours for the phone to be charged.

Vivo

Our decision
Vivo Y55S is a great entry-level smartphone but is not able to compete with its rivals. Redmi Note 4, Moto G4 Plus and Honor 6X are better options in this price. The Y55S has good battery life, separate microSD card slot and 4G VoLTE support. But it lacks more powerful processor, a high resolution display, fingerprint sensor and better camera.

If the price of this phone was around Rs 7,000, it could have been advised to buy it. But there are many other better options for Rs 12,490.
