The Gionee A1 has a 5.5 inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. In our opinion, it is one of the best displays at this price. The display is quite bright and can also be read in sunlight. Colors are well produced. Text and photos look crisp. The viewing angle does not cause trouble while watching the video. However, the next part of the phone such as a magnet is like a magnet and during the review period we had to repeatedly clean the screen of the phone.
This handset runs on Android 7.0 Nougat based Emigo 4.0 OS. Gionee’s own Emigo OS is quite updated and looks better than before. It also has many Nougat features. The user will get a chance to run several different apps simultaneously with the split screen mode. The setting app is also new, although there is no menu button in the upper left corner.
Gionee has also given some features like smart gestures in the phone. Smart vibration shows you missed calls and messages when the phone is on standby mode. The 13-megapixel rear camera given in Gionee A1 comes with a dual-LED flash and aperture F2.0. Sony IMX 258 sensor has been used in it. The camera app has many mode like night, professional, time-laps, slow-motion, smart scenes and jiff. The camera app of Gionee A1 has a translation feature. A video recording of up to 1080 pixels and 720 pixels can be recorded from the rear camera and the quality is excellent.
The colors of pictures coming from the rear camera are good but these pictures look oversaturated. The camera also takes some time to focus. The quality of photographs taken at night was good. However, when they zoomed them in full size, we saw a little noise and motion blur. Overall, the front and rear camera of Gionee A1 works brilliantly. However, we feel that it needs to do a little better because its important specialty is photography.
Gionee a1 performance
Gionee A1 will not disappoint you in terms of performance and the octa-core processor does most of the work properly. The handset has 4 GB RAM and during our review we found that most of the time is 1.8 GB RAM empty. The fingerprint sensor of Gionee A1 works very well.
Asphalt 8: We played games like Airborn and Dead Effect 2 without any trouble. And we had no problem while playing games or running the app. 5.5 inch screen is good to watch movies and videos. And we liked streaming the show on our Test unit.
We were disappointed as Gionee A1 warmed up most of the time. Only after playing the game for 30 minutes, it seemed inconvenient to catch it. The phone gets hot while using GPS for navigation and talking on the camera app and late phone. After heated several times, our unit was automatically restarted. And this price is not expected from the phone that comes in this price. This problem spoiled our entire experience with the phone.
The Gionee A1 comes with the Maxodio Enhancement, which has claimed to improve the sound of the speaker as well as the earphones. With high volumes, Gionee A1 does not disappoint the earphones coming with the phone are good. Call quality is also excellent and we have no problem in voice quality. Even in areas with slow connectivity and weak Wi-Fi signal, the ability to add smartphones to the network of smartphones affected us.
Gionee A1 also scored a great score in the benchmark test. But with this price, we have also seen a better score than Gionee A1 in another smartphone.
Gionee A1’s battery performance does not disappoint and is one of the biggest features of the phone. The handset has a 4010 mAh non-removable battery and supports fast charging. In 20 minutes of charging, up to 40 percent battery is found and in less than 2 hours the phone is charged up to 100 percent. In our HD video loop test, the phone battery lasted for 14 hours and 45 minutes. At the same time, the phone battery lasted for more than 36 hours at the time of normal use. At the same time, the phone’s battery with little use remained up to 20 percent, even after running for 45-48 hours.

Gionee A1 is a good option in this price and its magnificent texture and design won our heart. Battery performance is very spectacular and camera quality is also good. The heat of the phone is the biggest problem and customers will have to face this problem while using the phone, which is a bit inconvenient. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, which gives it a little more numbers from us but the software disappoints.
Gionee A1 will be sold at Amazon India and offline retail stores. The company has started taking pre-orders for Gionee A1 from 31 March. And on every booking, the company is offering free JBL Headphones or Swiss Military Bluetooth speakers with a two -year warranty.
