
Delhi Weather Today: Amidst the ongoing cold wave in Delhi for the last several days, the triple attack of fog, cold and pollution is wreaking havoc. On Saturday, most areas of Delhi were covered with a white blanket of fog. However, the effect of fog was less visible on Sunday morning compared to Saturday.
Due to very dense fog, visibility remained zero for 9 hours in Palam, Delhi and for eight hours in Safdarjung. This shadow fog remained for the longest time this season.
There is a possibility of dense fog on Sunday also. There will be a drop in maximum temperature. There may be light drizzle on Monday.
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be smog on Sunday. There will be moderate fog at most places. Dense fog may also occur at some places. It will be partly cloudy. The maximum temperature may decrease. It may go back down to below 20 degrees once. The maximum temperature can be up to 18 degrees and the minimum temperature can be up to 10 degrees.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light drizzle on January 6. Along with this drizzle in the morning, strong winds can also blow. There will be moderate fog. The maximum temperature will fall to 16 degrees. The minimum temperature can remain up to 12 degrees.
There will be moderate fog with smog in Delhi between 7 and 10 January 2025. There will be strong winds on 7th and 8th January. During this period, the maximum temperature can be 17 to 19 degrees and the minimum can be 5 to 9 degrees.
According to information available on flight tracking website ‘flight24.com’, more than 400 flights were delayed at Delhi airport.
Due to dense fog, 81 trains ran late on Saturday. Whereas the route of 15 flights had to be changed. Northern Railway said that a total of 59 trains were running late by six hours and 22 by about eight hours.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday, the maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 20 degrees Celsius, 0.7 degrees above the average and the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.8 degrees Celsius, 0.9 degrees above the average.
Average AQI Very Poor
Air quality in Delhi remained in ‘very poor’ category. According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the 24-hour average AQI of Delhi was recorded at 378. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, between 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, between 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, between 201 and 300 ‘poor’, between 301 and 400 ‘very poor’ and between 401 and 400 ‘poor’. Between 500 is considered ‘severe’.
