Bushra Biwi Interim Bail: A District and Sessions Court of Pakistan has granted interim bail to Bushra Bibi, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, till January 13 in cases related to the November 26 protests. Duty Judge Shabir Bhatti presided over the hearing of their interim bail petitions. Bushra Bibi appeared in the court with her legal team to seek interim bail in four cases registered at Tarnol police station and three cases registered at Ramna police station.

The court granted his bail on furnishing a bond of Rs 50,000 for each case. His lawyer said that earlier on December 21, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi had granted him interim bail till January 13 in 32 cases.

According to reports, Bushra Bibi appeared before the ATC along with her lawyers and sought bail in a total of 32 cases, including 23 cases related to the May 9 violence. He has been granted interim bail in the cases registered in Rawalpindi, Attock and Chakwal.

Her lawyer Faisal Malik argued that the cases registered against Bushra Bibi were politically motivated and aimed at revenge. Speaking to the media, Faisal Malik said that Bushra Bibi had surrendered herself to the ATC, ARY News reported, adding that she had been named in 23 cases in Rawalpindi alone.

Meanwhile, PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram condemned the £190 million corruption case against party founder Imran Khan and his wife, calling it the worst example of political vendetta. Addressing a press conference in Peshawar on 23 November, Akram warned that the people would not tolerate further injustice against Imran Khan.
