A Buffalo Grove man facing attempted murder charges was found dead in his apartment Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Paul Woebel, 50, died by suicide, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

His trial was scheduled to begin in less than two months on a case dating back to 2021, when he was accused of attacking his former wife, according to court records.
