New DelhiAnvay, son of veteran batsman Rahul Dravid, scored an unbeaten century for Karnataka in the drawn Vijay Merchant Trophy match against Jharkhand on Friday. Batting at number four, Anvay scored unbeaten 100 runs with the help of 10 fours and two sixes in 153 balls, due to which Karnataka team was successful in scoring 441 runs for four wickets in 123.3 overs on the last day of the three-day match.

First he made a partnership of 167 runs for the third wicket with Shyamantak Anirudh (76 runs) and then made a partnership of 43 runs with Sukurth J (33 runs) for the fourth wicket. Jharkhand team, which came to bat first, was all out for 387 runs in 128.4 overs. Karnataka got three points on the basis of lead in the first innings while Jharkhand got one point.

Anvay captained the Karnataka Under-14 team last year and recently scored an unbeaten 200 for Bangalore Region against Tumkur Region in the KSCA Under-16 Inter-Zone Tournament. Anvay’s elder brother Samit, 19, is an all-rounder. After playing for Mysuru Warriors in the Maharaja T20 Trophy, he was selected in India’s squad for the multi-format home series against Australia Under-19 in September and October.

Anvay’s elder brother Samit has also successfully represented Karnataka in age group tournaments for many years. Due to knee injury, Samit could not play the entire series against Australia. Due to recently turning 19, Samit has been ruled out of the 2026 Under-19 World Cup. Both Rahul’s sons are doing well. It will be interesting to see in the future who takes the father’s place.
