The accused arrested for threatening Purnia MP Pappu Yadav by making a video call was granted bail from the Assistant Treasurer police station itself. Regarding getting bail from the police station for the accused Ram Babu Rai, resident of Shahpur Doumaria, Bhojpur, arrested in the case, the police say that in the case where there is a provision of punishment of less than seven years, bail is given from the police station itself. In this case, on the written complaint of Assistant Cashier Police Station Head, an FIR has been registered against Ram Babu Rai under various sections under Section 352, 351 (B) of BNS.
Police sub-inspector Jyoti Kumari has been made the investigator of this case. The statement given by accused Ram Babu Rai to the police is raising many questions. The accused stated that he did not even remember his mobile number. However, he completely remembers the name and location of the person who asked him to make the video. The mobile with which he had made the video was thrown into the pond on the night of 1 December. He says that he does not know any Lawrence Bishnoi. Ram Babu Rai had told the police that only four-five years ago he had met a leader of Jan Adhikar Party (JAP). It was he who introduced him to Pappu Yadav. A few days ago, he had gone for a walk in UCO Park in Patna, during which he met Rajesh Yadav, who is close to Pappu Yadav. There were two-three more people with him. It was only on the request of Rajesh Yadav that he threatened to kill Pappu Yadav on video.
