New formula to stop stampede
Ahmedabad Police is doing a unique experiment this time. A ‘holding area’ has been created on the main road near Gate No. 1 and 2. The Police Commissioner said that although no stampede-like incident has ever happened here before, such an arrangement is being made for the first time as an extra precaution. Its purpose is to control the huge crowd at the gate and to make entry of spectators easier.
Attack on women safety and black marketing of tickets
Special teams have been deployed for the convenience and safety of women spectators coming to the stadium. Also, the Police Commissioner has warned in a strict tone that those involved in black marketing of tickets will not be spared. Policemen in plain clothes will also be deployed to keep an eye on those selling tickets illegally.
No good for intruders in the field
During the match, some excited fans often enter inside the playing area. This time, to prevent this, a special security cordon has been prepared inside the stadium. Apart from this, several senior IPS officers will be present at the venue to oversee the arrangements.
