Many people are in critical condition

It is being told that the condition of many people remains critical in this incident, while emergency teams and senior state officials have reached the spot. The rally started at Valusamipuram at around 7:20 pm at Valusamipuram, organized by Tamil Nadu Varya Varya Kazhagam (TVK) leader and actor Vijay.

There was chaos due to power failure

Eyewitnesses said that due to sudden power failure, there was chaos at the venue. Thousands of people gathered to listen to Vijay’s speech and got caught in the crowd. Prior to the incident, Vijay was talking about local complaints including illegal sand mining, mineral theft and other civic issues affecting Karur. He criticized the DMK government and predicted the change of power in the next six months, but as soon as the light, the crowd became uncontrollable and a stampede -like situation arose.

Bad ventilation and congestion spoiled the situation!

According to officials, poor ventilation and congestion worsened the situation. Parents and volunteers were seen taking unconscious children out of the venue, while others were trying to make place for ambulances and police vehicles. Under the leadership of Karur’s SP, the police reached the spot and stabilized the situation and opened the way for emergency services. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has ordered an immediate emergency response while monitoring the situation.
