New Delhi. Even though Tilak Verma was not a part of Team India’s playing eleven in the second ODI against South Africa in Raipur, he made his presence felt with excellent fielding. And saved five runs for his team. On Wednesday, while South Africa was chasing the target of 359 runs, Tilak came on the ground as a substitute fielder and saved a special six in the 20th over of the innings. He stopped the ball flying in the air which was going across the boundary for a six. Whoever saw Tilak’s effort was stunned. Aiden Markram, who played that shot, was also forced to bite his teeth after seeing Tilak’s excellent fielding.

South Africa’s in-form opener Aiden Markram played an aerial shot on the fourth ball of Kuldeep Yadav in the 20th over. After which Tilak, standing at long-on, jumped high and took the catch with both hands. However, when he realized that he had gone beyond the boundary, he showed amazing athleticism and wisdom by throwing the ball back into the field. Tilak saved five runs through this.

Earlier, Tilak Verma launched India’s T20 World Cup jersey along with tournament ambassador Rohit Sharma at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur during the mid-innings break of India vs South Africa 2nd ODI. The 10th edition of the T20 World Cup will be held from February 7 to March 8 at eight venues in India and Sri Lanka. India has been placed in Group A along with arch-rivals Pakistan, USA, Netherlands and Namibia. India will face USA in the first match of their tournament on 7th February in Mumbai.
