Kelsea Ballerini is kicking hot girl summer off a little early.

In a recent Instagram post, the 32-year-old country singer posted a photo dump featuring some of the fun she’s been having recently, including a beach picture.

“Getting my steps in, making music, finding ramen, learning sports (cars go fast!), and simply vibing,” she wrote in the caption.

One photo showed Ballerini laying on her stomach on a beach towel while sitting on the seashore with the ocean behind her. In the photo she can be seen sporting a black and white striped bikini top, gold hoop earrings and black sunglasses, with her hair styled in braids.

Ballerini made headlines earlier this year when news broke that she and Chase Stokes had broken up after first getting together in January 2023. After nearly three years together, they briefly called it quits in September 2025, before getting back together and breaking up a second time in February.

“Kelsea and Chase have broken up again. It happened just the other day,” a source told Us Weekly after their second breakup.

Another source told People at the time that “their lives are in very different places right now” and merging them has been difficult, later adding, “Kelsea’s been so supportive of him throughout their relationship, but it hasn’t been reciprocated.”

Following their breakup, Ballerini fueled cheating rumors when she commented on an Instagram video shared by fellow country singer Ashley Cooke, which featured an unreleased song about a man with “wandering eyes.”

Daniel and Henrik Sedin are now co-presidents of the Vancouver Canucks after team cleans house

Sometimes I think we forget how wild it was that in the 1999 NHL Draft, the Vancouver Canucks were able to draft identical twins Henrik and Daniel Sedin with the second and third picks. They both went on to play 17 seasons, all of them in Vancouver.

Now, they’re officially co-presidents of the Canucks

…And I’m kind of starting to wonder if they’re capable of doing anything independently.

Henrik and Daniel Sedin

The Swedish brothers hung up their skates in 2018, and the two Hall of Famers started working in the Canucks front office in the year that followed.

Now, the team is getting a fresh front office after the firing of GM Patrik Allvin and former president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford stepping down after the upcoming draft.

“For the past 26 years, Daniel and Henrik have dedicated their entire professional hockey careers to Vancouver,” team owner Francesco Aquilini said, per NHL.com. “Whether it’s as players or in various management positions, they’ve always committed themselves to excellence.”

Meanwhile, the team has also promoted Assistant General Manager Ryan Johnson to general manager.

TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS DEFY SLIM ODDS TO WIN THE NO. 1 OVERALL PICK IN THE 2026 NHL DRAFT LOTTERY

This new Canucks brain trust has its work cut out for it.

While it looked like things were on the upswing during the 2024 playoffs, the team collapsed the following two seasons, and even traded franchise centerpiece Quinn Hughes to the Minnesota Wild.

The first big point of business comes in June at the NHL Draft. The Canucks have the third-overall pick behind the Toronto Maple Leafs at No. 1 and the San Jose Sharks at No. 2.

That’s a golden opportunity to inject some talent, maybe even on the blueline after that Hughes trade.

While Gavin McKenna is the presumptive No. 1 pick, there are a lot of highly rated defensemen like Chase Reid, Carson Carels and Alberts Smits that could fit the bill.

LSU athletic director Verge Ausberry slams former coach Brian Kelly while praising Lane Kiffin

While LSU coach Lane Kiffin has been the target of many fans’ and media members’ ire over the past few days thanks to his Vanity Fair interview, one man has been squarely in his corner.

Unsurprisingly, Tigers athletic director Verge Ausberry had his new head coach’s back while trashing former coach Brian Kelly and his inability to relate to boosters or fans during his time in Baton Rouge.

In an interview with USA Today, Ausberry went scorched earth, saying the program needed a complete change of direction after parting ways with Kelly.

“It’s going back to the Saban model,” Ausberry told USA Today’s Matt Hayes. “(That means) running the whole program. Then, you have to go do some things with alumni and do things with boosters and do things with fundraising, with NIL. You have to be a part of that.”

WOULD YOU WANT YOUR COLLEGE FOOTBALL COACH POSING FOR VANITY FAIR?

Though he never mentions Brian Kelly by name, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who he’s referring to during his diatribe.

“That’s what Lane will do,” Ausberry continued. “He’ll go out there and have that conversation with the donors and the people who support the program and (say), ‘We need your help,’ and give them his cell number.”

“He’s not one who’ll say, ‘OK, I don’t want people to contact me. I don’t want people to touch me. I don’t want people to be around me.’ That’s who we had. That’s why we got what we got. There was no feel, there was no connection between the LSU football program, the coach, and the fans.”

BRIAN KELLY FACES HARSH CRITICISM FROM LSU FOOTBALL STAFFERS AFTER DISMISSAL

Pretty scathing stuff from Ausberry, but not entirely baseless based on what has come out of the program as well as the tangible results during Kelly’s tenure.

Louisiana State University head coach Brian Kelly coaching during a football game at Memorial Stadium in Clemson

LSU remains one of the easiest programs in the country to recruit talent to, given its bevy of resources and diehard boosters, yet Kelly’s recruiting classes never matched those of his direct predecessor, Ed Orgeron.

According to the 247Sports recruiting composite rankings, Orgeron’s average class ranking as head coach at LSU was 6.8. Kelly’s, by comparison, was 8.75, with his classes getting progressively worse every year aside from his very first class (often referred to as a transition class, which is usually put together in the span of a few weeks).

WHICH TEAMS HAVE THE MOST VALUABLE COLLEGE FOOTBALL ROSTERS HEADING INTO 2026 SEASON?

If Kelly really was that standoffish with boosters and donors — and I have no reason to believe he wasn’t, given his reputation as a prickly guy — then it makes sense that the program wasn’t able to recruit to the standards it had become accustomed to.

College football, especially high-level, SEC football, is a money-driven league, and donors aren’t going to be as eager to open up their checkbooks for a coach they don’t like or can’t relate to.

Kelly isn’t exactly known as an ace recruiter either, so he likely needed those donors to step up even more so than previous LSU coaches to help him close on the trail.

Now, as far as the Lane Kiffin side of this story, that remains to be seen.

It’s early, and the honeymoon phase is still in effect in southern Louisiana for both coach and program, but Kiffin will have to show results quickly.

To his credit, Kiffin is the main reason the NIL apparatus at Ole Miss reached the point it did, and the early returns for LSU’s roster, valued at roughly $40 million, seem to suggest Ausberry is on to something.

But, the sentiment on social media, particularly from Rebels fans, paints a different, less rosy picture.

That could be sour grapes, or it could be a genuine warning. Only time will tell.

During a time when Lane Kiffin once again became the target of fans everywhere, his new AD stepped up and circled the wagons.

Something tells me that won’t be the last time he has to do that, so it’s good he’s getting his reps in early.

US justice department accuses Yale medical school of illegally using race in admissions | Yale University

0

The justice department on Thursday accused Yale University of illegally considering race in admissions to its medical school – the second institution to face discrimination allegations by the federal agency this month.

In a letter to a lawyer for Yale, Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for civil rights, said a justice department investigation found that Black and Hispanic students have a much higher chance of admission to the medical school than white or Asian students, despite having lower grade-point averages and lower test scores.

“Yale has continued its race-based admissions program despite the supreme court and the public’s clear mandate for reform,” Dhillon said in a statement. “This department will continue to shed light on these illegal practices, and demand that institutions of higher education comply with federal law.”

Yale officials and the attorney named in the justice department letter, Peter Spivack, did not immediately return email messages seeking comment.

Since Donald Trump returned to office last year, his administration has been putting pressure on universities to stop using race as a basis for admission, which conservatives view as illegal discrimination. And a US supreme court decision in 2023 banned the use of affirmative action in college admissions, in cases involving Harvard and the University of North Carolina.

Last week, the justice department notified the University of California, Los Angeles that its medical school illegally considered race in admissions.

In the letter to Yale, Dhillon alleged the New Haven, Connecticut, school was violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibiting discrimination and said the justice department is seeking to enter into a voluntary resolution agreement with the university. She also noted in the letter that the agency has the authority to take the school to court to enforce Title VI if it cannot obtain compliance through voluntary means.

The justice department cited differences in grade-point averages and standardized test scores as evidence of racial preferences in the incoming classes of 2023, 2024 and 2025. In Yale’s most recent class, Black students had a median GPA of 3.88 and a median MCAT score in the 95th percentile, compared with Asian students, who had a median GPA of 3.98, and white students, with a 3.97 median GPA. Both Asian and white students of that class had median MCAT scores in the 100th percentile.

“Based on our preliminary review of the applicant-level data, Yale’s use of race resulted in a Black applicant [having] as much as 29 times higher odds of getting an interview for admission than an equally strong Asian applicant with similar academic credentials,” Dhillon’s letter said.

The justice department also described Yale’s use of a holistic admissions process as a means for the school to consider race.

The letter also cited Yale’s amicus brief in the Students for Fair Admissions lawsuit that led to the 2023 supreme court ruling on affirmative action, in which the school said it would not be able to maintain diverse classes without explicit consideration of race. The department said the fact that Yale was able to maintain similarly diverse classes despite that brief as evidence that the school had engaged in race discrimination.

Dhillon wrote that the lack of any change in Yale’s admissions outcomes after the supreme court ruling showed “a willful failure to comply with that decision”.

In March, a coalition of 17 Democratic state attorneys general filed a lawsuit challenging a Trump administration policy that requires higher education institutions to collect data showing they aren’t considering race in admissions.

Afterward, Knight expressed his support in Bailey’s own pursuit of some gold. Bailey made it clear he was going after the AEW World Championship next. Darby Allin, the current title holder, defended it against Konosuke Takeshita as he gears up for a hair vs. title match against Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF).

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Knight gushed about his tag team partner.

“Man, ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey is a savant – a wrestling savant. He’s been wrestling for almost longer than I’ve been alive,” Knight said. “He’s been in every single situation that you can think of. He’s wrestled thousands of times. He watches wrestling all the time. He talks about wrestling all the time. He knows how to put everybody in the right place to get the best reaction from the crowd.

Knight shared some of the wisdom that Bailey has imparted on him through the years.

“The No. 1 thing is don’t over think it. Don’t over think it and do what you do,” Knight said. “Like, as simple as that sounds, that’s literally the advice that he gives you. And you just take that and go, ‘OK, don’t over think it and just do what you do.’ And you just go out there and do what you do and you come to the back and everybody’s happy and you just get ready for the next one.”

Both men have crushed it since joining AEW.

He said that these allegations made by the opposition party TMC will first be properly investigated and verified, only then any action will be taken. During the new session of the Assembly, opposition leader Sobhandev Chattopadhyay had raised the issue of post-poll violence in the state. Chattopadhyay alleged that people have been forced to leave their homes due to violence in many parts of the state. He demanded in the House that the government should take a strict stance on these incidents.

‘The View’ co-host Ana Navarro challenged over Sean Duffy road trip claim

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

“The View” co-host Ana Navarro was called out on Wednesday for claiming Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy was on a seven-month road trip during his term.

“The tone deafness. The secretary of transportation was on a seven-month road trip with his nine children for a TV show,” she said during CNN’s “Newsnight.”

Duffy announced that he and his family filmed a show called “The Great American Road Trip,” to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. The trip has received pushback from the left, including from former Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and his husband, amid high gas prices.

“You know that he was not on a road trip for seven months. You know that that is factually inaccurate. Come on,” Jason Rantz, a conservative radio host, said.

Navarro countered, “He has been on a road trip during those seven months.”

“A couple of days at a time. He was not on for seven months. That’s just not fair and not accurate,” Rantz said.

CNN host Abby Phillip said he was filming a reality TV series.

SEAN DUFFY: TAKE A GREAT AMERICAN ROAD TRIP AND REDISCOVER OUR AMAZING COUNTRY

Rantz noted that Duffy filmed over the course of a couple of days throughout the seven months, which Phillip argued didn’t make it better.

Duffy has pushed back on criticism of the trip, posting in a statement to X, “The radical, miserable left has noticed our awesome Great American Road Trip trailer… and they hate it. It’s too wholesome. It’s too patriotic. It’s too joyful. They’re upset because they don’t want you to celebrate America! And they definitely don’t want you to teach your kids civics & patriotism. So they tell lies to undermine the mission.”

He said in the statement that zero taxpayer dollars have been spent on him or his family.

LIBERAL ‘VIEW’ CO-HOST AGREES WITH TRUMP TRANSPORTATION SEC ON CALL TO DRESS BETTER WHILE TRAVELING

“The series was filmed in short, one to two day production windows — such as weekends and the kids’ spring break,” his statement continued.

Duffy also said the series was reviewed by career ethics and budget officials at the DOT.

Duffy also addressed the criticism during an interview with CNN’s Scott Jennings.

“I said seven months but it was over the course of, on average it was about two days a month on a road trip. Go to a destination, quickly film it. In April, I took the kids on spring break and hit multiple locations,” he said. “We have been one of the most productive DOTs in the history of DOT. And so again, your Democrat colleagues on CNN, they know that, but it’s just a cheap shot to say that I’ve taken time off.”

NSPCC reports sharp rise in children being blackmailed over sexual images in UK | Children

0

Children reported a rise in online blackmail attempts involving sexual images in the UK last year, according to a leading charity.

The NSPCC said contacts with its Childline service relating to online sexual abuse and exploitation rose by 36% last year, driven by an increase in cases related to online blackmail.

Evidence of the rise in online blackmail came as MPs said that maintaining the status quo in social media regulation was “not acceptable”, before the closing date for submissions to a government consultation on online safety.

The child protection charity said the most common examples of blackmail were: financial “sextortion”, where victims are tricked into sending explicit selfies and are then sent demands for money in exchange for not releasing the images; being threatened with images taken from children’s phones and turned into explicit images using AI; and being forced to send fresh explicit images by a former partner.

Blackmail threats were discussed in two out of five online abuse-related counselling sessions at Childline last year, where children contact the service to report abuse and receive advice from professionally trained advisers. There were 2,444 sessions related to online sexual abuse and exploitation in the year to 31 March, with blackmail being mentioned in 1,043 of them.

Children contacted by the NSPCC over the past year have described being tricked into sending nude selfies by a criminal pretending to be a teenage girl, or sending photos to an older man and then being threatened about making an explicit video.

The NSPCC published the data after child safety experts recommended that schools remove pictures of pupils’ faces from their websites and social media accounts because blackmailers are using them to create sexually explicit images by manipulating the photos with AI tools.

Chris Sherwood, the NSPCC’s chief executive, said it was “crucial” the government used the safety consultation as a springboard to force tech platforms to “make these spaces safe for young users”. The consultation, which closes on 26 May, is considering an Australian-style under-16 age limit for accessing social media as well as a range of restrictions on livestreaming or addictive app features such as infinite scrolling.

The NSPCC has warned that an under-16 ban could have “unintended consequences” – such as exposing children to dangerous platforms when they turn 16 – and is calling on ministers to strengthen the online safety act [OSA], which requires tech companies to protect children from harmful content. The charity wants addictive app features to be tackled, strict age-ratings for each social media platform and smartphones to carry software that blocks nude images.

MPs on the science, innovation and technology committee have told the government that further protections on social media are needed. In a letter to the tech secretary, Liz Kendall, the committee chair, Labour MP Chi Onwurah, said the committee was “struck by the examples of a range of significant harms to individuals from the use of social media”. Onwurah called for measures including requiring tech companies to provide more data on the impact of their platforms on children and greater transparency on the algorithms that curate children’s social media feeds.

The government has already committed to some form of action, having committed last month to either repeating the Australian ban or imposing restrictions on platforms.

Responding to the NSPCC report, a government spokesperson said the OSA already protected children from online harms such as bullying and that it was working with tech companies to prevent under-18s from sharing or taking nude images.

“We won’t hesitate to go further in ensuring children are safe online, which is why we are consulting on everything, from age limits and apps curfews to an outright ban,” said the spokesperson.

Kamala Harris pushes Electoral College, Supreme Court changes in new viral clip

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Former Vice President Kamala Harris went viral on Thursday after pushing what many considered several “bad ideas” in her “no bad idea brainstorm” for the Democratic Party.

During a Wednesday night livestream on the “Win with Black Women” podcast, Harris suggested that the Democratic Party get an “expanded playbook” of ideas ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

“I think that we need an expanded playbook in a way that we invite all ideas, that we say… look, this is a moment where there are no bad ideas, a no bad idea brainstorm is what I’d like to call it,” Harris said. “And in that no bad ideas brainstorm, we talk about what we need to do and think about doing around the Electoral College. We talk about the idea of Supreme Court reform, which includes expanding the Supreme Court. We invite a conversation about multi-member districts.”

Harris suggested that, if and when Democrats regain the Senate, the Senate Judiciary Committee should put into place rules to “penalize people for lying” for Supreme Court justices and nominees.

“That we agree that it is right to have ethics rules for Supreme Court justices. And let’s put those in place. Let’s talk about statehood for Puerto Rico and D.C. These are the things I think that we’ve got to do,” Harris continued.

Fox News Digital reached out to Harris’ office for comment.

Harris’ ideas received widespread backlash across X, with conservative commentators calling out her comments as several “bad ideas.”

“They have zero policy ideas. It’s all just online staffer brain rot,” Substack writer Stephen Miller commented.

Radio host Erick Erickson wrote, “If a Republican were to say these things, the press would excoriate them. But when a Democrat does it, the press treats it as legitimate because the press is on the same side. Anything that goes against Democrat desires is cheating and must be stopped.”

“Could you imagine Jake Tapper’s indignant on-air finger-wagging if Republicans proposed any of this stuff as a response to losing?” RedState writer Bonchie wrote.

Jemele Hill is right: WNBA fans expect journalists to be ‘cheerleaders,’ and that’s not how this works

For years, one of the loudest complaints from WNBA players and fans was that nobody took the league seriously.

The coverage wasn’t robust enough. The TV deals weren’t big enough. The salaries weren’t high enough. The facilities weren’t good enough. The media didn’t pay enough attention.

Well congratulations, WNBA. You’ve made it.

The league is booming, attendance is soaring and ratings are up. Players are making significantly more money under a new CBA tied to a media rights package reportedly worth more than $3 billion. Teams are building state-of-the-art practice facilities that rival — and in some cases surpass — what NBA players have access to.

The WNBA is no longer fighting for relevance. But with that relevance comes scrutiny.

Jemele Hill addressed this issue this week on her “Flagrant and Funny” podcast after she faced backlash for criticizing the WNBA’s restrictive locker-room media access policies. Hill argued that for years, many fans viewed journalists covering women’s basketball as part of the movement rather than as independent observers.

“There’s more people covering the league now, it’s under more scrutiny, and (the fans) have had the expectation that the journalists are supposed to be extensions of teams. And the journalists are not supposed to be that,” Hill said.

“They expect our jobs to be to support the women. And while the support is, to me, in the fact that we have built an entire podcast around discussing women’s sports and all the culture and the issues and all the things that come with it, they expect the journalists to be cheerleaders.”

She’s spot on.

Jemele Hill speaking on stage at the NAACP Image Awards Hosts Hollywood House Symposium

For a very long time, coverage of the WNBA often resembled advocacy more than journalism. That’s not necessarily malicious. The league was smaller. Women’s sports historically received less investment and less respect. Many reporters covering the W genuinely cared about helping grow the game.

Frankly, I understand that instinct. As a woman in sports myself, I know the struggle is real sometimes. I get it. Hell, I interned in the Indiana Fever PR department in 2009 when they couldn’t even give away tickets. So I’ve had a front row seat to watch the growth of the sport.

But somewhere along the way, a portion of the WNBA ecosystem — fans, players and even some media members — started treating criticism as betrayal.

That’s a problem. Because tough questions are not “disrespect,” and pointing out poor play is not “misogyny.” And journalists are not supposed to function as an extension of league PR departments.

That tension has become increasingly obvious as the WNBA grows into a legitimate mainstream sports property attracting broader coverage from outlets outside the league’s longtime inner circle.

You can see it in the outrage over reporters asking uncomfortable questions. You can see it in the league’s restrictive media access policies. You can see it whenever players or fans accuse journalists of “not supporting women” simply because coverage wasn’t glowing enough.

Last year, veteran reporter Christine Brennan faced backlash — including a formal statement from the WNBPA — after asking DiJonai Carrington whether contact with Caitlin Clark during a controversial play was intentional. Critics argued Brennan was “pushing a narrative.”

More recently, reporters criticizing the WNBA’s limited locker-room access policies (including Jemele Hill) were treated with vitriol as if locker-room interviews are pervy and invasive. Even though they are the norm in every single major professional men’s sport.

Last month, Dallas Wings PR abruptly shut down a reporter’s question to rookie Azzi Fudd about navigating the spotlight alongside teammate and rumored girlfriend Paige Bueckers. Dawn Staley slammed a CBS reporter as “biased” because he dared to refer to a couple of Golden State Valkyries players by name.

And then there’s the growing hostility toward media access altogether. Angel Reese recently said she’d rather pay a fine than speak to aggressive reporters, a stance applauded by Megan Rapinoe as empowering.

We’ve reached a point where saying a player had a terrible game can trigger accusations of sexism or “agenda-driven” coverage. Meanwhile, male athletes get ripped to shreds 24/7 on television, radio, podcasts and social media without anyone questioning whether the existence of criticism itself is harmful to the sport.

That double standard does women’s sports no favors. In fact, I’d argue it’s insulting.

Equality in sports doesn’t mean female athletes only deserve positive coverage. It means they deserve to be treated like professionals whose performances, decisions and controversies are worthy of honest analysis — the good and the bad.

THE WNBA’S WINGS CAN’T SHIELD AZZI FUDD, PAIGE BUECKERS FROM RELATIONSHIP QUESTIONS FOREVER

And to be clear, there absolutely are bad-faith actors out there. There are internet trolls who don’t watch the WNBA, don’t care about women’s basketball and only engage with the sport to stir up culture war nonsense or demean female athletes.

But credentialed journalists doing fair, objective reporting are not the enemy.

I say that as someone whose platform hasn’t always had a harmonious relationship with the WNBA. There was a time when getting credentialed to cover games felt like pulling teeth for outlets perceived as unfriendly to the league. Even now, there’s still an undeniable sense that parts of WNBA media culture operate like an exclusive club.

If the WNBA truly wants to be treated like the major professional sports league it has worked so hard to become, then it has to accept everything that comes with that territory.

Million-dollar salaries. Chartered flights. State-of-the-art facilities. Met Gala invitations.

But also scrutiny, uncomfortable questions and accountability.
