
Russian President Vladimir Putin Said on Thursday (June 4, 2026) that Russia will not interfere in the delicate bilateral relations between India and China. He expressed confidence that India and China are committed to resolving the long-standing border disputes amicably.
Putin spoke extensively with heads of news agencies around the world, including PTI. In this conversation the Prime Minister Narendra Modi And praising Chinese President Xi Jinping, he said that both the leaders are committed to resolving border issues peacefully.
Responding to a question from PTI, Vladimir Putin said, ‘India and China have a delicate and multidimensional relationship and it is not a good idea to interfere in it. Of course, we have talks with both our friends – India and China. He said, ‘Both President Xi and Prime Minister Modi are trying to resolve all issues of mutual interest, including the border issue.’
President Putin Underlining Russia’s strategic balance in Asia, he said that Russia’s decades-old partnerships with India and China have evolved naturally and the two relations are completely distinct from each other. He described these relations as a natural evolution and said that Russia’s growing closeness with India is not at the expense of China, just as Russia’s deep alliance with China does not affect its relations with India.
Vladimir Putin Also mentioned the historical background of the Russia-India-China trilateral framework. He said, ‘I had once suggested that the leaders of India and China meet in Russia and that is how the Russia-India-China framework was established. We had many issues to talk about and reach consensus.
India and China have taken several steps to normalize relations over the past year, following severe tensions in their relations due to the deadly Galwan Valley clashes in 2020 and the subsequent military standoff that lasted for more than four years.
